The Year is 2013, NERV has created it's first Multi-function robots called Angels, that were created to make all the naughty jobs of mankind such as cleaning the toilet. But then, an android from outer space called Big Bad hacked all the angels in the world to start a revolution against humanity.
For a War against Angels, NERV created Evangelions, the giant robots who would eventually defend the New York when Angels would attack. For the pilots, NERV wanted to find the grandchildren of the people who had once met with the Big Bad. For finding those people, they use the Dead Sea Scrolls so they can find all the six who could fight against the Big Bad.
